EDITORIAL SERVICES
I offer editorial feedback on novels, memoir, children's picture books, short stories and poetry. If you are in need of writing advice and line edits, please get in touch via email letting me know the information below. From these details, I will be able to provide you with two quotes to choose from: one quote for an overview with a page of feedback, and another for in-depth line edits, using tracked changes to insert comments and suggestions throughout your work. Both of these options also include a writing Q&A, too.
Please send me an email letting me know:
1. The genre of your book/piece of work
2. The word count, and whether or not it is complete
3. If it's a book, please include a few paragraphs outlining the plot of your piece (with spoilers)
4. A few sentences letting me know which area of your work you're particularly concerned about
5. Whether you require feedback by a specific date
6. Finally, please attach a one page sample of your work to the email
If you are at an early stage in the writing process and would like guidance on planning/structuring your story, character development etc and would like to schedule a Zoom call instead of written feedback, just get in touch.
If you are preparing your manuscript to submit to agents or publishers and would like assistance with that process, l am also able to help with this. I'm also happy to discuss sensitivity reading when it comes to disability, as well.
I look forward to speaking with you.
Testimonials
"Submitting your work to be edited is daunting for any aspiring writer. Jen’s editorial feedback is always human and always constructive. Her insight is always designed to help you better tell your own story. I cannot recommend her advice highly enough." — Jonathan, who received editorial feedback on his novel-in-progress.
"Jen has been helping me with editorial feedback on three of my children's picture books over the last few months. She provided me with line edits, writing advice, a Q&A on publishing, and detailed feedback on all my stories. I always received feedback on time and she was always professional, supportive and friendly. I feel that Jen has helped me improve as a writer, I have learned a lot, and I now feel a lot more confident about my writing and the process of submitting to agents. It was wonderful to have her help, and I am truly thankful that I chose her for editorial feedback. I would not hesitate to work with Jen again in the future, and would highly recommend her to anyone!" - Katy
"I approached Jen for advice on a poetry manuscript I was working on and it was one of the best decisions I've made. Jen gives wonderful writing advice that is professional, insightful, and always supportive. Her feedback not only helped me with editing my manuscript, but also gave me new tools and skills that I can apply to all of my future writing projects. Working with Jen gave me some much-needed confidence in my work and made submitting my manuscript to potential publishers seem much less frightening. I'm proud to say that my pamphlet, 'macular degenerate', was published this year with Broken Sleep Books. I couldn't have done it without Jen's help!" — Emilee
